Soul has spent two seasons whipping with the Hawke’s Bay Hunt, confidently jumping anything and everything that comes her way. She loves riding out front but is not a fan of holding back in the melee of the field. She's happy over full wire fences and has jumped up to 1.20m in the arena at home. She’s ridden extensively across hill country, showing a massive engine, courage, and stamina. She’s as handy on cattle as she is over a fence and well used to dogs.
Out and about, Soul is as tough as they come — she’ll bash through scrub and gorse, push through two-metre-high crops, cross rivers, climb over rocks, and gallop over rough country without missing a beat. She’s easy to handle and shoe and self-loads onto a float.
She has a slight hock swelling that can appear after very heavy work, though it’s never affected her performance or caused any soundness issues. Typically, a mare of her type and experience would be priced higher, but due to her age and this minor blemish, she’s been priced for a straightforward sale to the right home.
Soul would suit a confident, capable rider who enjoys a forward-moving horse and is looking for an energetic, seasoned partner who knows her job and loves to get out and about.
